Candle Care

Every Essentials Northwest candle is thoughtfully hand-poured to bring warmth, comfort, and calm into your home. Following these simple care tips will help your candle burn beautifully, maximize its fragrance, and extend its life.

First Burn

Your first burn is the most important. Allow the candle to burn until the melted wax reaches the edges of the container, typically 2–4 hours depending on the size of your candle.

This creates a full melt pool and helps prevent tunneling, ensuring a cleaner, more even burn throughout the life of your candle.

Trim the Wick

Before each burn, trim the wick to approximately ¼ inch.

Keeping the wick trimmed helps produce a cleaner flame, reduces soot, and promotes a longer-lasting candle.

Burn Time

For the best performance, burn your candle for no more than 4 hours at a time. Allow the wax to cool completely before relighting.

Candle Safety

For a safe and enjoyable experience:

  • Always burn on a heat-resistant surface.
  • Keep away from drafts, children, pets, and flammable materials.
  • Never leave a burning candle unattended.
  • Discontinue use when approximately ½ inch of wax remains at the bottom of the container.

Reuse Your Jar

Once your candle has completely cooled and all remaining wax has been removed, wash the jar or tin with warm, soapy water and give it a second life. They're perfect for organizing small items, displaying plants, or adding a simple decorative touch around your home.
